The Mystery of the Magic Pants and other tales

I’ve been working on a project with children from Holmewood and Ravenscliffe in Bradford to write and perform two stories and create costumes, scenic elements and props.  I decided to go for a folkloric feel as we were going to be in the bandstand of the local park and didn’t have very long to make everything – it seemed a simple and effective way to go.

This was an Artworks Creative Communities project and this time I was teamed up with Irene Lofthouse, a writer and performer.  On the 24th October the children performed their two tales in the bandstand in Lister Park, Bradford as part of the Reflections arts in communities event. We were extremely proud of them! They performed amazingly well and looked fabulously folkloric in their costumes.
